Holy moly.
Should have been this way from the start.
Would have lightenned the need for crazy DRM too (and freed more resources for story writing)
There will be obviously be a black market in no time...
but the joy of finding something good was never really there when you could sell that something for "X gold" and buy something twice as good on the AH for the same "X gold".
Have you played Diablo 2? Because the story in Diablo 3 is 1000x better, even if it isn't great.![]()
I'm impressed with the decision honestly, they were probably making a reasonable amount from it. I agree though, I very rarely got the 'ooh, something better than what I'm currently wearing dropped for me!' when I used the AH to gear up and that took a lot out of it.
It was an interesting experiment that bought me a nice gaming rig. I'm glad to see it going though - coupled with Loot 2.0, which pretty much obsoletes all current gear. The always online DRM is useful for another reason - Dupes and their prevention/limitation. The console version is already totally plagued by the ability to take out the save file on a mem card and upload it to the net so others can 'share' your kit. When gear is that easy to dupe, it looses all value - and I'm talking about value in the sense of Treasure hunting rather than monetary.
Well now, i might even give d3 a try now![]()
Does anyone know if you have brought gold will they be refunding your money back ?
I'd hazard a guess at there being next to no chance of that happening.
