Hey folks.

The Playstuff TF2 server is one of my regular haunts, and I've found that it generally seems to attract good players and has a decent atmosphere -- don't think I've ever seen anyone using hacks/exploits or raging in chat, which makes a pleasant change.

Naturally, a lot of the folks on there are in the clan (with the .ps after their name) and so I enquired how one might join, and I was directed to the forums. If there's a means to apply it'd be good to know, and I'd be interested sometime in trying out higher-level play than just public servers. I think I've got pretty good at the game, although I suspect a round or two with competitive-level players would disabuse me of that notion

Anyhow, nice to be here. I'd be grateful for server recommendations (as Playstuff has, alas, only the one TF2 server) as a number of the ones in my favourites list have become increasingly underpopulated, tend to attract bad or ragey players (I am tired of Team Threespies), and in the worst cases I've seen people blatantly cheating.

I've also got a selection of items I'd be interested in trading, though I'm not sure if that kind of post is allowed on the TF2 forum.

There's no formal way of applying, just hang around a bit, perhaps join us on mumble for some laughs. You sound like a nice fellow, so we'll welcome you with open arms I'm sure
We do indeed have some competitive teams around, I think the current one is here. We're mostly in it for the fun, though we still try to, and often do, win.

As for servers... erm, I only really play on the .ps one nowadays, play less TF2 right at the moment, but I have fond memories of the Nervous Energy server, although, they must be over a year old by now. And the Hampshire Heavies are good servers from what I know, bonus is they have about 3 (I think?) so at least 1 is usually populated.

Technically, I wouldn't call .ps a clan - we're just a big community and many people feel proud of it enough to wear a .ps tag. Nevertheless, we have been playing some community highlanders lately, also there's a group for 6v6 mixes going on - you can check last threads on tf2 board and you'll surely find it
As Sero said, you can trade in the mentioned thread, but don't expect much - most of us aren't too trade-oriented nor have bunches of keys/unusuals - but we're probably always open to some hat/stranges swaps or help each other obtaining some weapon
I have some good TF2 servers on my list, I'll try to share them later. (btw, I don't play on HH servers due to their materials download )

These are the servers I visit most often (not mentioning Playstuff obviously), I also often join my SteamFriends' games. Kritzkast and VGN servers are also very nice, with good atmosphere and teamplay, but they're often empty (as ours) and Kritzkast server used to have broken autobalance system (I don't know if it's working now, but playing 8v12 wasn't enjoyable at all for me )

Yeah, basically what Sero said - feel free to hop onto Mumble if you want to chat.
Admin on the server is given out pretty freely for anyone who plays regularly (enough that when you join the server, we recognise you and don't think 'Oh crap, here's that a-hole' ) so just hang around and when you think you've earned admin then just ask - it's pretty much up to you to decide when you think that we'll think you deserve it if that makes any sense at all.
The 'Get Your Arse on TF2' thread is often useful and most of us are happy to accept friend invites on steam.
I only tend to play on the playstuff servers or if they're empty then I'll jump on anywhere that has playstuff people on it until there are enough of us to start filling up our own server (those rare occassions I'm not on a ps server I'll usually be on a Hampshire Heavies, Kritzkast, Reddit or TF2Maps server I guess)

Looks like my comrades have you covered for all the information you might need bar one easily overlooked point. Playstuff does in fact have two servers and always has. The teamplay server has always been our mainstay but we also have the maplab, a secret underground nuclear facility secondary server dedicated to the testing of custom maps. Hoodoo had most of it's early playtesting on there and it used to feature weekly testing events. It's been repurposed recently to service our comp team but with any luck it'll be back soon.


P.s I'd say playstuff is more of a collective than a clan.
