Re: Choose Your Own Adventure: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain.

The door is not locked and opens. The room in front of you seems to be a small torture chamber, with various torture devices around the walls. In the centre of the room, two small, hunchbacked creatures are having their fiendish way with a dwarf, who is tied to a hook in the cieling by his wrists. The two hunchbacks are poking and cutting him viciously with their swords. The Dwarf lets out a final scream and falls silent, eyes closed. His captors make disappointed noises and look round angrily at you as if it were your fault that the Dwarf has collapsed. Will you:

Close the door quickly and continue up the corrider?

Draw your sword and try to fight the creatures?

Stride over to the Dwarf, give him a jab with your sword and put on an evil laugh for the torturers?

Indeed. Shall we close the door and leave these things alone?

We're here to loot the warlock for his treasures, that's all we need. I doubt these things have anything of value.

What are we, noble and just(fight)? craven(run)? or black souled?

    I say we(singular) fight!

Whats to say that the poor wee midget wasn't getting tortured as he, as all dwarfs do, has lots of gold and treasure hidden nearly? Potential profit for the noble!

What's better to try our sword than some vicious creatures caught red-handed? Agreed about attacking them and checking the room as well as everyone's pockets. Maybe the dwarf is still breathing, he may have some important knowledge!

(and what about the goblin behind us?)
Hey, you can type small, nearly invisible text under your post. (or invisible!) That's great! - I know neat trick isn't it ?
Hello, Stranger! Nice to have you in my sig! Feel free to leave comments! Any of them will be welcome!

The game itself isn't that intelligent. Normally you would be turning to each page as dictated, and paths would split and rejoin as you went along. The game often wouldn't even know where you had come from. So that sleeping goblin behind us is an encounter we've successfully dealt with, provided awesome-o is playing completely by the book.

On that last note, I've got to say, I've played this a few times, and the opening (and only the opening, so don't worry about it spoiling it) I know quite well, and I gotta say, I wasn't expecting this behind the door. xD

Let us see how these cowardly torturers fare against an opponent who can fight back! Draw steel I say! To arms!

Re: Choose Your Own Adventure: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain.

Sero is the only one opposed to killing the torturers.

The adventurer chooes to draw his sword and attack the creatures!

These two evil creatures are Goblins. They attack you one at a time.

First Goblin, 5 skil and 5 stamina
Second Goblin, 5 skill and 6 stamina

The creature rolls eight and attacks with a total of 13 skill
The adventurer rolls eight aswell and attacks with a total of 19 skill

    The first round is yours

I agree! We need to save our luck for occasions where it is much more required as opposed to merely potentially useful.
