    Re: Development spamfest

Yeah actually I retract my previous post, the forums are laid out in a way such that prefixes aren't really needed.
There are bound to be topics that need to be discussed in more than one sub-forum, it's just going to be a case of making sure those threads stay in the realm of that subforum.

    Re: Development spamfest

I'm confused as to where to find stuff...

    E.g.

"Oh, Sloth/Lemmines/3agle had a really great idea, or posted 'xyz', it was about game design"

"Hmm, which of the 4-6 threads across 1-3 subforums was that in? no idea"

Also, it's just kind of awkward sometimes, having to open 3 subforums for the sake of a few new posts.

If there was 20 new posts in each subforum each day, then ya it would be a nightmare to use a single forum...
but when there's only one or two active threads under each section (maybe 6 or 7 threads total)...seems like hiding them here and there is unneccessary...

then again, maybe i'm just lazy and you should all ignore me

hopefully that sort of thing will occur less once these 'What is ...?' videos start, though it could be avoided by people quoting the original post when they refer to it.

Quite impressive stuff, there needs to be a new Burnout game using that

    Re: Development spamfest

So I have made a tiny bit of progress with our initial build, it's not much but I have only spent a few hours on it,I shall be working on it more tomorrow.

It's not up on the bitbucket repo yet, but after I finish whatever I get up to tomorrow I'll push the changes to the repo so everyone that sorted out bitbucket can download and mess with it.
Note I have updated to Unity version 3.5.3, so if you want to open in the editor you'll need that version (or newer, though it is the latest build at time of writing).

The only things really implemented at the moment are the partially functioning menus and the camera controls, which function via scrolling to the edge of the screen or holding mouse3 and dragging.
I hardly need to say this really but all textures and models are placeholder at this point and will certainly be changed at some point.

Awesome, 3agle. Can't wait to see more.

On a more sucky note, Goob has been more and more cagey lately so... we're going to need a new concept artist. Or something. If someone here thinks the can step up and take his place, I'm all for it. Otherwise, we need to find someone. I don't even know where to begin to look.

    Re: Development spamfest

I've uploaded the new project to the 'operation-playstuff-fork' repo.
I didn't do an awful lot of work on it today, just some instancing objects, but the project is up there for people to pull when they like anyway.

    Code:
    git clone https://3agle@bitbucket.org/3agle/operation-playstuff-fork.git
