    Re: Game of Thrones

See I would go as far as saying I disliked the last episode "Season Finale"

I was bummed when i noticed it was not a 2 hour special then watching the episode nothing really happened differently prior to the same amazing show each week. Don't get me wrong I LOVE the series and can't wait till season 2, however to me as a season finale it should be pretty "OMG!" and I felt it lacked that. The last episode was amazing as they all are but I don't know.. I felt I was let down..........

Other then the last 2 minutes =p

Edit: I did start reading the book though and can't recommend it enough. What I enjoy most about the book is the book and the series both are the same however each one does things the other does not. Hard for me to explain but if you read and watch you will see that it is not verbatim which is very nice.

    Re: Game of Thrones

    Spoiler: Reveal
It didn't had a finale indeed, the finale itself was the set-up for the next series, the changes that are coming, khalisee and her dragons, the nights watch riding north, stark Bannerman hailing the starks as king of the north, the tywinn army going for the throne, each part of it concluded itself with immediately setting up for the next season, that's why its so brilliant.

    Re: Game of Thrones

Yea, the last minutes were awesome!
It wasn't an all-out awesome finale, but I do like that they wrapped things up and prepared it for the next season.
You can't really put in a lot of impressive stuff if they want to be faithful to the books (which I didn't read)

Holy crap, the ending!! I really liked this episode even though it did lack an epic climax up until the very end. But hey, it had Charles Dance in it, what more can you ask for??

I loved Grand Maester Pycelle in this one. Seems he's fitter than he makes people think he is

    Re: Game of Thrones

The Pycelle thing was a bit weird to me.

I thought that he knew Roz was a Littlefinger spy and so played up the doddering old fool role so as to not appear in any way threatening. However Maesters are meant to be a chaste order and so whoring around with a potential enemy's informant seems a bit silly to begin with.

The last episode was really the epic climax of the Westeros side of the story, the rest was a bit of a denouement. The ending of this one was the climax of Dany's story.

i hadn't read the books so i didn't know the outcome for Ned, although as he is polayed by Sean Bean i shouldn't have been surprised.
The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

Couldn't last long enough! Really hate my brother though, as he told me Eddard was going to die.

Also i propose to not spoiler anything anymore, as you should've seen the series by now, unless its information about the second book

    Re: Game of Thrones

I think just in case someone hasn't seen it yet they should remain spoilered, wouldn't want to be ruining this awesome series for anyone
    plus it's good habit

I should read the books, but I don't want to spoil the series really (which sounds really odd to a lot of people, but I just like to see "the summary" first, then read it more fleshed out )

Same. I started the book and caught up before the last episode aired. Oddly I waited to watch the episode before finishing the book. I enjoyed both and didn't want to spoil the TV episode for myself =)
