    Re: Final Fantasy Versus XIII

It looks like it COULD be good I think yeah. I saw elements from a few different genres creeping in, which can sometimes ruin a game, but yeah, I'll keep it in mind I think. More Devil May Cry combat than Final Fantasy, but then the last FF I played was 9...

    9 was the best though
    4 discs of perfection.

Eh, I liked most of the early ones I played. 7 had Red, enough said. 8 was the first I ever played, so can't remember it really, but of course have a sweet spot. Also gunblades. And I have since played the first 3 as well, which are enjoyable as well.

    Re: Final Fantasy Versus XIII

My favorites were 9, 8 and 7, in that order, and the worst imo was XIII, so not expecting this one to be great, I love all the FF games except XIII though, even 12, which most people hated for some reason.

God knows why they are releasing Final Fantasy XIII-2 before this.

I think they might be insane.

    9 is my favourite too.

Closely followed by 10 and 12

    Re: Final Fantasy Versus XIII

as long as its nothing like ffxiii lol, it had stunning visuals in places but ugh soooo linear and only controlling one person in your party was laaaame (also it was lacking in the secret superawesomefantastic secret bosses)

i started at ff7 and have played them all except 14, i really liked ff12 alot, i dont know why people hate on it, though i found some of the main characters a bit blandm the gameplay was almost exactly like the ff11 mmo which i played for a long time so maybe thats why i liked it, one gripe i have though which some of the newer FF games share is that they make it so you can make any character do anything or everything, i have personally preffered the ones where each character was a different class, like in ff9, ff13 was similar but they just had generic classes., i just don't like it because theres no reason to use everyone in your group because the 3 guys youve used the most can just do anything, particularly true in ff12 where you could cast spells while also being a melee god, i liked the system in ff 5 i think it was, where you only got 4 characters but they could change class between battle, ffx-2 has a similar idea with the dress spheres... aaaanyway thats my ff rant over, i don't think i could pick a favorite ff though, i like different elements of each of them (the combat system in ff12 particularly how you didnt get random battles so no extra loading screens and you actually had to try and avoid things that were too hard for you) story from ff7 or 8 maybe, visuals of ff13 thatd be a pretty epic ff game

    Season 1 now in progress!

    Re: Final Fantasy Versus XIII

story and world map from 9, combat from 12, environments from 10 and 12, cut-scenes from 12 and 13 -- you have yourself the best FF game ever created.

EDIT: not saying this is what XIII versus will be, just that imo, it's what every ff should aspire to until it's right

Also go back to SquareSoft and music by Nobuo Uematsu please

also i really liked the environments in ffxi, there were only 6 cities a few towns and also little settlements scattered throughout, and pretty much every kind of environment you can think of and some you couldnt, the graphics were not great though but almost every outdoor area was huge, think ff12 areas x2-3 in size, the downside of course was it took forever to walk anywhere but as its an mmo they needed big areas for many people trying to kill things at once, and also drain your time with trivial things to get more money out of you in the long run but just the sheer free roam size of it all was cool, all the cities had different themes too although i think the ff9 cities were more interesting

    ffxi world map:
    Spoiler: Reveal

though that doesnt include several new areas added in expansions, to give an idea of scale to walk from say San'doria to Bastok would take about 40-60 mins foot, somewhere between 15-20 mins on chocobo.

thats pretty cool, I never played 11, but heard some good things about it, I played the XIV beta, but it was pretty dire, they just could not patch it, every time they fixed something it made the game worse in other areas, and MOUSE ACCELERATION WTF.

yeah ive avoided 14 lol, mainly because i remember ff11 and how everything in it was a massive time sink, was fun, but also epensive if you played for a long time,

ff versus 13 looks pretty cool but i'll reserve judgement til it comes out

    Season 1 now in progress!
