    Just saw Ex Machina.

    It was fantastic.

Re: Musical Madness, Perhaps even Sadness.

Looking for some musical recommendations, recently started branching out from classic rock/metal to more modern(?) music. Found a couple of songs (through watching twich streams mostly) that I quite like and posted one below. Can anyone suggest some similar type songs for me to try out? I have also linked to my grooveshark channel to give some more insight to what I'm listening to right now

This stuff isn't obscure or anything, but much like you, Vox, I too have come from a rock/metal background and these are my picks of "modern"(ish) music at the moment

    Spoilered for length

    Spoiler: Reveal

All of Glitch Mobs stuff is excellent IMO:

Odd video, but there you go...

    Overplayed, but a tune:

Think this video was posted in spamfest at one point? It's in my playlist anyway so I'm reposting it.
Btw this guy does lots of sick chiptune style dubstep, it's great, check out Pixel Journey too.

SubVibe has some great stuff so check out the rest, especially some of the collabs with Tide or his Disturbed sample!

I could probably think of more but there's more than enough here! Let me know if any of these are good, I may have others to recommend

Step off the beaten path a little Vox, and you'll find some very interesting music in a similar vein.

Some actual, original dubstep from back in the day:

Lastly, the wall of highly technical (yet still melodic) sound that is Reso:

The album this last one is from is called Tangram and it's freaking epic.

Re: Musical Madness, Perhaps even Sadness.

Gonna dump a few faves you may or may not like, modern all the same.

    Madeon, already posted

Some wubs with pretty hnnggg buildup from Far Too Loud:

Wubs from Foreign Beggars, one of my personal favourite artists for this genre:

Noticed Boylee posted a 16Bit remix, reminded me of my favourite:

Probably already heard this, Deep/Future House from Oliver Heldens:

More where the previous came from, this one without the vocals. They do both have re-releases with vocals - imho the vocals on the Koala re-release isn't as good as the pure instrumental but the vocal version of Gecko surpasses the original - personal preference I guess.

Pep & Rash bringing more Future House to the mix, if you like this check out Rumours:

Noticed you also listened to some Katzenjammer and Parov Stelar electroswing, so without further ado I present Caravan Palace, electroswing from France:

    Trap can be good, too:

Re: Musical Madness, Perhaps even Sadness.

So... some interesting "music" there gentlemen, very few that I did not enjoy it has to be said!

"Machine Gun"... just... wow. I feel a bit dirty for listening to it at work to be honest but probably my favorite.

I already had a few of the suggestions in my playlist i.e. "Too Close" and I am sure I have seen that "Greyhound" video before.

I thought I would reciprocate your generosity by posting a few other tracks that I enjoy that may be a bit different to the norm. Sorry for any reposts, don't keep an eye on this thread (sober) as much as I should.

    Also spoilered for length, enjoy!

    Spoiler: Reveal

    Bonus for Limbo video!

A great example of electro swing and how we all think we can dance after one too many shandies...

And another, very similar but awesome none the less.

I have no words for this one. No idea how I found it but quite catchy!

Great tune, even better video. This is what that TV dance show should be like!

GF's favorite so by default I now like it

Ey Vox - try some of these. Tried to think of some things which are kinda similar to your out of the ordinary selection. I've posted a few of these before.

Some good stuff here, really like the Bonobo one and the two Gramatik songs. Not sure about the Long Arm remix!

Re: Musical Madness, Perhaps even Sadness.

Seen a few videos on reddit of this guy who puts together compilation videos of different music genres.

Quite a few of them I knew before, but some of the ones I didn't I'm really enjoying to the point that I've just added 25 hours of music to my spotify 'Investigate' playlist through these.

EDIT: is this from the new album of Mark Ronson? And is all of this quality?

After being a bit disappointed at their previous album (disclosure: was a fairly diehard Muse fan about twelve years ago holy shit time flies), I actually quite like this.
Glad to see they finally found a use for a riff they play at pretty much every live show as an interlude.

    Also, extra points for:
    "SHOW ME YOUR WARFACE"
    "BLEEEEEURGH"
