Objection - we can be as well on Discworld (and the amount of humour and unseriousness in this thread backs up this idea), then by going west and west we can eventually fall over the world. If you see any large waterfall and can't see what's behind it, change direction!

The passageway continues westwards and then turns due north. Some way up, you reach a junction when a narrow passage runs off to the west. Will you continue NORTHWARDS or take the WEST way?

As you walk along the corridor to the west, you can see ahead that it is getting narrower. At one point you stoop, and as you do so, a deep, resonating laugh starts up around you. Do you wish to continue? or turn back?

I am going with the deep resonating laugh being Wizard of Oz esque and not possibly some giant evil being ready to crush us underfoot..... ONWARD
