Match fixing incident leads to ESL ban for Slayers Coca and GhostKingPrime.

Oooph. My skim reading of the situation makes me think it was Coca being a bit naive and treating the tournament game the same way you'd treat a practice game against a mate. To me it's a 16 year old kid doing his friend a favor without understanding the overall consequences of what he's done. It doesn't look premeditated as you don't announce IN THE GAME what you're doing if you're planning to match fix.
Harsh that Coca's conceded the Code S spot, but he definitely needed some sort of punishment to get across that though this is a game it's also in the process of becoming a sport where people's livelihoods are involved, and as such certain standards need to be met.
Midnight Bacon: "You're like Batman, with guns."
Hmmm. Naive maybe - but entirely serious in that as you say, there is alot of money involved in the scene and has been for nearly a decade (SCI pro's we're averaging $100k salaries back in 2005). Stuff like this can be a big blow to the flow of money into the game as a sport - especially with eSports gambling sites emerging all the time and punters wanting to be assured they are betting on a well refereed game.
I'm saying nothin'!

not sure if this has been posted before but this looked amazing![]()
Lot of names popping into that Starcraft2 User ID thread! (i'll get mine in there eventually)
Seems to me a SC2 night might be in order :![]()
It's a game that if people haven't tried - they should. Pretty hard to get passed 'i know what i'm doing' to actually managing to do it - so learning curve is slow and undulating (for me at least) but it is such a well crafted thing. I am totally smitten with it, in a way i've Never been with a game before.
Pretty chuffed - been playing some 2v2's with Chris_Chavez and we just completed our placement matches ......

Although it must be said, Chris is at Gold level, so he did the bulk of the work, I held my own in a few of the games. Loving it.
Woo! I won my first ever placement match!
It was horrendous. I somehow managed to pick random and didn't notice until the loading screen. It threw up Protoss which wasn't so bad due to the few campaign missions. I at least had a general idea of what to do.
