Being aimed at wider audience does not always mean worse.
Need to play the games again, but I think I did like the streamline.
Some RPG elements just tend to be annoying in a game like this.

I agree with Jim, just because they are aiming at getting more people into the franchise does not mean the latest game will be worse than the last, ME2 was streamlined and was (imo) a better game than ME1.
I'm going to wait and see for myself before I judge, especially with a hit and miss studio like Bioware.
Plus, this info isn't from the studio, it's from EA, so yeah, it really doesnt mean anything unless you have shares in EA.

both games had different elements that i like. i liked armour customization and inventory of 1. but liked the combat system and the varied weapon models of 2. from what i've read form the studio ii.e the earlier articles in this thread. they are merging that stuff back in.
The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

Seems a bit strange to make a trailer that focuses on a mechanic that has been in the first 2 games in the series as well.
But having said that, it does look gorgeous.

I'm interested in people's thoughts on this, is it a good thing to make more games in the same universe but with new characters? Or is it lazy?
Is the big appeal about Mass Effect that it's in this massive universe that's completely new and strange, all available for you to discover? Or is it more the story of the characters?
In terms of development it seems like an easy and lazy choice to recycle the universe and 'lore', but then again, if they can make a good game from it, why not?
I ask these questions because I'm not entirely sure myself, so wondered what the consensus is.

Well personally my first thought was cool,. but the more I think about it, the less certain I become.
to alreday have the lore implated and only find the characters can get to be a very repetative game (later CoDs anyone?)
whereas the positive sides would be people will recognize the places and stuff that's going on a lot easier.
So personally I'd say it will very much depend on how they create the next game. As it has great potention but it's more likely to fail.
but I'm looking forward to it and think it's a good idea.
I'm always happy for a look at different characters in the same universe. The universe is bigger than the 9 people you can take with you, so feel free to show it![]()

direct from Bioware and Mass Effect's Facebook. We can officially confirm that there will be a multiplayer feature in Mass Effect 3. However, please reserve your appraisal until we are able to give more information. Our Executive Producer Casey Hudson says it best: "Yes, co-op MP missions for ME3: they're real, and they're spectacular. Rest assured it's nothing of what you've feared. More soon..."
Tune in for a special BioWareTV episode at 10AM on Wednesday October 12th to have all your questions answered!
needless to say this was followed by an explosion of rage.
i personally hate the idea of this for about a billion reasons which i can't go into now cause i have to finish my cheerios and get to work.

A normal MP style would probably suck. Co-op missions might work.
Co-op missions will be with seperate characters you make apparently.
You're a soldier I believe, and your fights will make up more resources and stuff in the singleplayer, changing the outcome of them game.

As long as it doesn't interfere with main plot and normal mass effect feel (I hope it doesn't) - why not?
Hey, you can type small, nearly invisible text under your post. (or invisible!) That's great! - I know neat trick isn't it ?
