Woot 8meg internet for ?7.99 a month
Really should have done that sooner instead of being ripped off for 1 for a few years

Something I played when I was a nipper![]()
Italian job ?
As you have obfuscated the image filename () I have guess for... GTA for the PSX?
Only recognise it from playing it on a sunday before me lunch at the mother in laws![]()

Jambo - "you are a jambo, a dirty jambo, you're only happy, on Giro days. You're ma's a dealer, you're pa's a stealer, please don't take my hubcaps away" (Urban Dictionary)
just love the creativity of my fellow Dutchies
Heavy influenced by HalfLife for sure![]()
I think my internet speed just went up, as promised by vm:

If that's Virgin you're on Jamesy, it's great - you can now use up all of your limits in half the time only to find they drop your rate until the next morning - frikkin' idiots!
If I even look at a download then my rate gets dropped onto the naughty list and my speed capped:frusty: for about 12 hrs.
You can tell pretty easily - if you're in the middle of downloading a large file and the speed plummets then you've just hit your cap.
Details here but they tweak them quite often.
On the plus side, it is only temporary - everything gets reset in the wee hours.
On the down side - they're cnuts.
The really annoying thing for me is that I get penalised for leaving downloads running when I'm at work which is outside peak hours but then if I come home and decide to do something like backup my website then it crawls to snails pace.
If only they could sort out capacity and contention rates instead of selling speed - my connection slows to a halt at the weekends even when I don't hit the cap (which I don't actually often do - it's just bloody annoying when I do) as all my neighbours surf at the weekends.
Mind you, anything that stops mrs grom spending more money on ebay can't be all bad.
I can vouch for Sky's unlimited package really being unlimited by downloading something like 400GB from Giganews so far this month... :yummie:
None of the ISPs business models really cope with heavy use on domestic connections - I'm not holding out hope for mine remaining uncapped forever.
As to VM/NTL - the word "phorm" is enough to dissuade me from them![]()
Funny how a House of Commons select comittee can look into yet, yet the police turn a blind eye to all complaints.
Even odder must have been the Phorm CEO refering to Tim Berners-Lee as a Luddite lol

Just found out that the sale of our old house on thursday hinges on my 90 year old great aunt remembering where she put some documents send to her in 1984.
Since she is living in a retirement home with beginning dementia chances are rather slim I suppose.
Now we have to get new ones from the local town council, who by the way is also the buyer of our property in the little farce that has become our life.
Estimated time until the deed (of which they a have a clear record of sending it to us in the first place) is approved: About six months.
Excuse me while I go and reread Kafka's 'The Trial'.
Apparently I forgot how this bureaucracy shit goes down and fate decided to teach me a lesson in humility.
Fuck fate. :frusty:
Good thing you don't live in Belgium. We still got data limits, which means when we reached our monthly amount of data we can download, we got snail speed for the rest of the month...

Pipex havn't capped my speed in the 6 years iv used them. Don't think I have a limit on my account.
P.S. I like birds too...

Don't get me started on Phorm - I've had meetings with them from the ISP point of view (we're one of the few who didn't agree to sign up but I can't tell you who 'we' are really) and they'er pretty slimy, especially that Kent bloke (the CEO). Two of my old bosses went to work for them but I think they've both left now.
And Monkeys - you need a good solicitor, a decent one specialising in conveyancing should be able to get the documents re-issued and notarised. I do feel your pain though and the Kafka will make so much more sense than the reality!
