WoW Private server

Ok so after chatting with a few ppl on vent it seems that some of you either play a little or want to play wow but dont have the time to.

Well here is the answer...

I co-founded a private server with about 7k players, we have 2 servers atm 1 with 3x rates and 1 with 12x rates (ie 12x higher xp/drops etc than retail)

It is 100% free with the option to donate for sets/items/levels etc

If you have played retail dont expect a carbon copy, its very close but we still have bugs but we have the best developers in the game working all the time.

Will have a look. Tried private WoW servers before, but they were usually too laggy or underpopulated to really enjoy

Well as i said to the others, we are waiting for our datacenter to upgrade our box to a 16core again since it was lowered to an 8core, we have set the cap to 4k players atm but will be lifted again once the server has been upgraded.

I'll take a look into it, if we can get enough people i would volunteer to host raids just like i did in the pay2play version. I assume all bosses work correctly atleast?

I think there are at least five people I know willing to give it a try and I'm sure we can get more people into this. Running around with a group of mates killing dudes, getting mad purpz and generally dicking about could be great fun.

Indeed launch, altho mine is still Downloading, 300kb per second of 4.5gb is not a quick process.

No. this has nothing to do with ps. its just somthing Mistikal co runs and has invited some of the ps guys to join up. dont expect any special treatment.

Just a little info we have just upgraded the server back to 16core so all the lag should be history once again

And yea dont expect and special treatment thats something i fire other gms for doing.

However, are the bosses working correctly?
Heavy raiding would be the only reason for me to come back again to that addictive game

Bosses are scripted by our devs, we try to get it as close to retail as we can but ones with heavy scripts are a lil buggy, the are being worked on to get them done tho.

Most of the bosses are scripted apart from a few old ones.

Btw, go alliance, faster battlegrounds and better pve imo, all the horde do is sit outside instances..

just a quick question mistikal, i've alwasys wandered whether it would be possible to add new races to each faction on a private server? I am thinking more about high elves for alliance or something like the Taunka for horde. just a random question is all.

Its kinda possible but far to much work to do it, the thing is private server patches are the same as official ones, after each patch it would need to be implemented again and everyone download another custom patch.

You can however use custom skins/models client side.

yeah i've looked into those but most of the websites which host the skins and models are far to dodgy for me to deal with if i'm honest. (or they were a couple of years back)
