Don't forget that at most companies IE6 is still dictated, but when workers will be unable to watch youtube vids, then riots will happen

My work (for a supposedly very hi-tech company)force us to use IE6 and Windows XP Service Pack 2! Still! Needless to say that it means no-one respects the IT policy or pays any attention to it and since we're all geeks who require un-approved software to do our work, we just jailbreak our pcs and do what we want. That's my main reason for still loving Firefox, it's the only browser that lets me use a different proxy server so it can use a personal one while IE6 still goes through the coporate proxy for our intranet.

Do bear in mind that YouTube are now not supporting IE6 but that doesn't mean if you use IE6 Youtube won't work on it. It's only when they release new features they won't test them on IE6 and make them backwards compatible.

For sure. My main 'take' from this though, is that I won't be supporting IE6 in the web projects I have coming up and that makes me happy.

As previously noted, it just means that new features may not work as they won't keep bending over backwards to do work around and fixes for IE6 rubbish-ness.

What I really like is the idea that it displays a reminder every 2 weeks. Now we just need some nanny state goodness that identifies people haven't got either a firewall or free anti-virus and nudges them towards installing some!
Then hopefully spam emails will decrease, as will fraud!
