Still my favourite Gil Scott Heron track;
If you haven't got the Jamie XX remix album of Gil's last album - go buy it, it's seriously good. It attachs itself like little velcro hooks into your aduitory system without you noticing and stays there like a real live earworm for days. It also sounds totally different depending what system you listen to it on - I re-listened to it again the other week on a good loud system having only previously heard it in the car and on crappy headphones at work - all good but so different.

Making me feel like I was 13 again (It still really amuses me that Rob Halford was largely responsible for the appropriating the gay leather and studs look for macho metal and no-one realised until many years later that he was gay and had managed to convince metal fans (who were unfortunately pretty homophobic back then) to dress like him - one of the funniest trolls I've seen). My cousin hired Rob to play a porn store clerk in her movie Spun and she always had very good things to say about him which makes him alright in my book.

No-one, and I mean no-one can play like Maceo Parker. One of the nicest, most talented and hard-working people I've ever had the honour of working for. This guy defined the sound of James Brown, Funkadelic, Parliament. He's played with De La Soul, Bootsy Collins, Dee-Lite, Living Color and Prince and even Jane's Addiction wrote My Cat's Name is Maceo about him. If you think you've never heard of him I can guarantee you've heard loads of tracks that he's played on.
And my dog Parker is named after him in honour of the funkiest man to ever breathe (tied equal with Bootsy Collins)
