Re: Battlefield V - you know you wanna!

Not sure if I can run this - build is a bit old with a 3570k processor with an r9 290 gpu - any opinions on how well this will handle it?

If I recall correctly it performs very well and stays cool just fine - just overkill for many users!

    Re: Graphics card

    Haha yeah quite.

960's are lovely cards though... if I was building an ITX system I'd seriously consider a small form factor 960.

Also if you plan to move up in resolutions the memory becomes important. Basically it's future proofing.

Tri-X, the Sapphire one. The 280-290 series work well with adequate cooling, and AMD are having to aggressively price them to compete with Nvidia in terms of price-performance.

    Re: Graphics card

If you're planning on staying at 1080p, I would contest that spending anything more than 180-200 quid is excessive.
In terms of pure price-performance, R9 280X's (can be had for 180 or...

While I know you said you have a preference for Nvidia, the current Radeon lineup performs very competitively.
    A R9 280x may suit your purposes?

Schedule an event for us to get together and explore a bit? I'd love to fly around a bit but would prefer company.

    Is anyone around... now?

The obligatory thread to check for ongoing interest.
I'm around to play now for a couple hours if anyone wants to do some stuff.

Re: Guild Wars 2 on the cheap 8.75!

I checked in on my characters - I've got a level 35 Sylvari Warrior and a 24 Charr Engineer. Depending on availability I'd be happy to come along and help people explore.

    EDIT: Wow, I forgot how...

Oh I mean.. I don't think I have access do I? It says I get a flight demo but the game isn't out properly until the 16th, I think. So I guess I mean let's rock and roll then.

How many people do we have for this? I'm probably going to preorder anyway (not pay for the Beta though!) but I'm keen to conduct some 'legitimate business operations' with you guys.

R4 is pretty good for cables - like most of the other 'enthusiast' grade cases of that size. To be honest there's a big range of top-quality cases. NZXT H440, Nanoxia, Fractal, Corsair, Silverstone...

Re: Buying New PC Parts - Thoughts please!

Yeah it's pretty wacky but the design of it works well apparently. The Air 240 and the Node 804 (another Fractal) have similar designs but are smaller, so you won't be able to use the big mobo you've...
