Digital Economy Bill

by SleeperService on 08-04-2010 at 16:52
Sorry for this but...

This was passed last night in the House of Comons and will get rubber stamped in the House of Lords and be passed into law. It is not the content of the bill that annoyed me but it provenance and its current debate.

The path of the this Bill into Law and its debate in the Washup before the election is a damning indication of the state of britains politcal process. The Bill was not tabled first in the Commons and was created by Peter Mandelson and

I have a Blackberry Storm, yes it has its foibles, memory management omg, and is a bit lame next to the iPhone but it does work quite nicely for me.

Just finished reading this interesting essay on operating systems. He really shows quite what a geek he is, which does come out in fiction, and it describes the relationships between us users and the various operating systems out there.. It did

Hyper-V Server 2008 SP2 install

by SleeperService on 16-01-2010 at 11:51
Virtualisation is great. We have 25 odd Virtual Machines across 4 physical servers for development and testing. Want a new server just pull it up from the library and you have a new server in the time it takes to move the virtual hard drive files. Want to do something risky on the server like testing deployment scripts across replicated servers - take a checkpoint and you can roll it back in seconds and test it again from your starting point.

MS have a free VM host called Hyper-V
